This immersive painting workshop guides students through the creation of a studio painting from start to finish, using the dramatic Bugaboos as its subject. Set in the high alpine as autumn arrives, the workshop explores how shifting colour and texture transform mountain meadows into a mesmerizing foreground for the iconic Bugaboos towers. Participants will learn how to capture both the grandeur of distant peaks and the intimate detail of a foreground filled with Western Anemone flowers as they turn to seed.
Designed to refine technical skills while expanding creative language, the workshop places strong emphasis on thoughtful risk-taking, abstract design, and expressive mark-making. These essential elements encourage students to move beyond representation, develop confidence in their decisions, and cultivate a distinctive and personal creative signature.
