Original painting 60” x 30” oil on canvas - SOLD
Original painting was inspired by a month-long hiking and painting journey into the heart of the Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. September proved to be an extraordinary time to explore the high alpine, as the landscape began its dramatic transformation from summer into autumn.
Across the mountainsides, alpine vegetation turned into incredible harmonies of deep reds, warm oranges, and brilliant yellows, while the larches began to glow with their distinctive golden colour. Set against rugged peaks and the cooler tones of the distant mountains, these intense autumn colours created an unforgettable visual experience.
