Original painting was inspired by many years spent exploring and painting in the Banff area. The view across Vermilion Lakes toward Mount Rundle is one of those quintessential Canadian Rockies scenes that I never get tired of.
For me, this landscape also brings back many fond memories of my early days in Banff—hiking through the mountains, snowboarding, exploring, and simply spending as much time outdoors as possible. Those experiences helped build my connection to the Rockies long before they became such an important subject in my paintings.
