Original painting based on the plein trip to Pender Island and plein air session at Brook Point. It is inspired by that brief, luminous moment when spring arrives on Pender Island—when coastal meadows begin to wake, the air turns fresh and salty, and the ocean quietly sets the rhythm of the day. I focused less on dramatic gesture and more on light, colour, and spatial balance. Rather than chasing spectacle, the painting grew out of careful observation—how the land opens up, how colours soften, and how spring reveals itself gently, almost without announcement.
This is a piece about calm and equilibrium. About that fleeting seasonal transition that feels both energizing and grounding—the kind of atmosphere you want to live with every day.
