Original painting 60” x 60“ oil on canvas - SOLD
Original painting was inspired by a painting journey to Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. Maligne Lake, with the iconic Spirit Island resting within its turquoise waters, has become one of the most recognizable and beloved images of the Canadian landscape.
My goal was to interpret this extraordinary place through dynamic light and colour, rather than simply reproduce the scene. I used a series of complementary colour contrasts to bring energy and luminosity to the composition, capturing the shifting light as it moves across the water, forest, and surrounding mountains.
Above all, I wanted the painting to express the sense of joy, wonder, and reverence I experience whenever I visit this special place—a landscape that feels both timeless and sacred.
